          • Most businesses are seeing either a steady level or moderate increase of business activity over the last year.

      • Almost half of businesses surveyed have plans to expand operations in the next 1-2 years.
      • ¼ have no plans to change and 1/6th are uncertain.

      • The top factors chosen as critical for the success and expansions of businesses are qualified labor, public access, tourism, up to date equipment and/or technology, and foot traffic.

        • Some of the major issues or obstacles facing businesses are Public safety and crime, availability of employees, current economic conditions, and cash flow and working capital.

      • Of the businesses that responded, 83.3% answered the Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce (IVCC), 41.7% answered the Illinois Valley Business Entrepreneurial Center, 25% answered the Southern Oregon Visitors Association, 13.9% answered Southern Oregon Regional Economic
      • Development, Inc. (SOREDI), and 8.3% answered the IV High School Career Internship Program.

        • 81.5% of businesses who responded are members of the Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce (IVCC), 37% are members of the Illinois Valley Community Development Corporation (IVCDO), and 37% are members of the Illinois Valley 20/20 Vision and Strategic Plan Action team.
